Tana Marie Mongeau was born in June of 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada to parents Richard and Rebecca. She is an only child and her family frequently moved around to different neighborhoods in the Vegas area.

In 2015, Mongeau posted her very first video to her self-titled YouTube channel. The video titled Hairdresser from Hell? has 3.5 million views as of 2022. She then moved to uploading weekly vlogs, where she would normally tell stories about her life.
