Richard Kevin Harrison was born in March of 1965 in Lexington, North Carolina to parents Richard Benjamin and Joanne Rhue. His father co-starred on Pawn Stars until his passing in 2018. He and Rick’s mother were childhood sweethearts.
Meanwhile, Rick is the third youngest of four children. Sadly, his older sister Sherry passed away when she was just six. He has an older brother named Joseph and a younger brother named Chris.
At the age of two, the family relocated to San Diego, California. Rick has always been enamored with reading, especially after being confined to his bed from epileptic seizures when he was young.

Rick and his dad opened Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1989 and by 2005, the store was loaning out roughly $3 million a year, which brought them about $700,000 in interest income annually.
After about 20 years of building their reputation as carrying special items with unique histories, the pawnshop entered widespread fame in 2009 with the show Pawn Stars.
The series has run for 17 seasons thus far and it features Rick, his father (referred to as the “Old Man”), his son Corey, and his childhood friend Austin “Chumlee” Russell. Impressively, the show was the second-highest-rated reality series in 2011, behind Jersey Shore.
