Andrew Clay Silverstein was born in September of 1957 in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn. His parents’ names are Fred and Jacqueline. Meanwhile, he has an older sister by the name of Natalie.
Furthermore, Dice’s father was a real estate agent as well as a boxer. From the age of five, Clay was entertaining his family and friends with impressions.

He quickly started booking small roles in sitcoms like M*A*S*H and Diff’rent Strokes. Dice’s breakout came in 1989 with the release of his debut comedy album titled Dice. Impressively, the album reached gold certification by the RIAA for selling 500 thousand copies in the U.S.
Then, his follow-up, The Day the Laughter Died, managed to sell 250 thousand copies in seven weeks. Incredibly, Dice was the first comic to sell out two consecutive nights at MSG.
Dice has appeared in television series such as Crime Story, Bless This House, Hitz, Entourage, TripTank, Hap and Leonard, and Pam & Tommy.
Moreover, his film roles include Pretty in Pink, Casual Sex?, Blue Jasmine, and A Star Is Born.
Lastly, Dice has signed deals over the years with Sirius Satellite Radio and Simon & Schuster. He competed on The Celebrity Apprentice 2 and My Kitchen Rules as well.

Overall, Dice has been married and divorced three different times. First, he was with Kathy Swanson from 1984 to 1986. Then, he Kathleen “Trini” Monica in 1992. Together, the couple had two sons: Maxwell Lee and Dillon Scott, before divorcing in 2002.
Clay’s third and final marriage was with hairstylist Valerie Vasquez from 2010 to 2014.
Lastly, Dice resides in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of LA. Notably, he had a stent placed in a partially blocked artery in 2017 and was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy in 2021.
